What is Dyspraxia?

Dyspraxia is believed to affect 8% to 10% of the population to some degree, and 2% severely. Dyspraxia is a reduction in the organisation of movement as information from the brain is incorrectly processed or transmitted.

Dyspraxia is described as having two main elements:

  • Difficulty planning a sequence of coordinated movements.
  • Difficulty executing a plan, even though it is known.

Due to the reduction in coordination associated with dyspraxia it is also known as ‘Clumsy Child Syndrome’.
