The presentation of people with functional weakness will vary however symptoms may include the following:
- Weakness affecting part of or the whole body
- Fatigue
- Mobility problems e.g. dragging the leg
- Sudden collapse of a limb
- Reduced exercise tolerance and activity

- Visual problems
- Speech problems
- Headaches
- Difficulty concentrating
- Bladder or bowel problems
- Dizziness
- Fainting
- Altered sensation
- Sleep disturbance
