Effects of Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy

The symptoms of limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy:

  • Weakness in the shoulder girdle may make reaching overhead difficult, carrying heavy objects and doing functional tasks such as brushing your teeth or combing your hair.
  • Weakness in the pelvic girdle may cause problems walking, standing, sit to stands.
  • Heart problems can occur but this is uncommon
  • Respiratory problems can occur over time and this should be monitored regularly.
