What is Sever's disease

Severs disease may also be referred to as Calcaneal apophysitis and is a bone disorder that results from inflammation of the growth plate in the calcaneus bone in the heel of the foot.

A growth plate is the area of the bone where cartilage cells expand overtime and an area in which growth occurs. During puberty the heel bone may sometimes grow faster than the leg muscles and tendons
